Maryland is full of fun activities to take part in and things to do this summer. There are great opportunities for boating, hiking, bird watching, and enjoying the outdoors. But, did you know Maryland is also full of great Amusement Parks and Adventure Parks that you can enjoy around the state? From historical amusement parks and traditional roller coasters to large rope courses, there is fun for everyone in Maryland. That is why today I am bringing you the Top 9 Amusement Parks in Maryland.

1. Trimper’s Rides and Amusement Park

Located in Ocean City, Maryland, Trimper’s Rides and Amusement Park has been owned and operated by the same family for over 100 years. There are indoor rides for children, outdoor rides for everyone, and your favorite amusement park and carnival treats to enjoy throughout the day. The park offers a fun mix of historic and classic rides, along with a looped roller coaster.

2. Adventure Park USA

Located in New Market, Maryland, Adventure Park USA will provide a full day of fun for the entire family. You can enjoy roller coasters, bumper boats, go-karts, and mini golf. Children can participate in a mining experience and participate in midway games. There is also laser tag, rock climbing, and a ropes course. Hit Adventure Park USA for the day to enjoy indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family.

3. Six Flags

If bigger rides is what you are after plan a trip to Six Flags located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Adults and children alike will find activities to keep them busy and give them thrills throughout the day. But, this amusement park is about more than just rides. Six Flags has a number of entertainment options as well. There are several block parties for guests to enjoy, along with Sword of Destiny show. Six Flags also has water rides and holds special events in the park throughout the year. As far as Amusement Parks in Maryland go, Six Flags is the largest!

4. Frontier Town

Plan an overnight stay at Frontier Town. This park pays tribute to American Old West. The campsite has over 600 sites for visitors to stay at. During peak season the water park is free and during the fall and spring free mini golf is also included. During peak times mini golf does have an additional charge. This amusement park includes adventure park activities. You can enjoy a ropes course, fishing charter, kayak rental, playgrounds, and nature trails to hike. But, the front runner of the location is the Western Theme Park.

5. Sandy Spring Adventure Park

Sandy Spring Adventure Park is not full of rides and carnival food but has claimed to being the largest man-made outdoor climbing adventure anywhere in the world. There are 13 trails, 29 zip lines, 6 different levels of difficulty, and 200 challenging bridges. If you are looking for a fun place to hold a child’s birthday party, the Labyrinth 40 climbing elements and kids love it. If you are looking for a new kind of experience, you can try a night climb.

6. Jolly Roger Amusement Park

Jolly Roger Amusement Park was opened over 50 years ago and began as a putting course and driving range. The following year there were 10 rides added transforming the area into Jolly Roger Amusement Park. Over the past 50 years the park has continued to add more rides, and has expanded to four separate parks, including a water park. It is home to Speedworld Go-Karts, and has become home to the first cart coaster, Cyclone. This attraction combines Go-Karts with a Roller Coaster and it 1500 feet long and 5 stories tall.

7. Baja Amusements

This family owned amusement park covers a total of 10 acres. There are 8 go-kart tracks, climbing walls, bumper boats, mini golf, and kiddie rides. You can enjoy a snack bar and friendly competition during your time at the park. Located in West Ocean City, there is fun for the whole family to be had at Baja Amusements.

8. Water Park at Bohrer Park

If you are looking for a way to cool off on a hot day in Gaithersburg, Maryland check out the Water Park at Bohrer Park. The whole family, including little ones can enjoy. Kids can enjoy a zero entry pool that makes it easy for kids of all ages to enter the pool. There are splash buckets and water slide. The water park features a separate section for children that are under 54 inches tall. Families can bring a picnic lunch or snacks to enjoy throughout the day. There are plenty of shady areas to relax in as well.

9. Chesapeake Beach Water Park

You cant atlk about Amusement Parks in Maryland without mentioning the Chesapeake Beach Water Park. Located at the Chesapeake Beach Resort community has enough activities to keep kids busy on a hot day. The area has fountains, a waterfall, a lagoon, a kids activity pool and 8 water slides. They hold special events throughout the year, including Character days and night slides.
